About Us

 

The Uttoxeter WI ran for 90+ years and sadly closed in 2012, after a couple of enquries from ladies about the group a campaign started to find local ladies who would be interested in the return of a Womens Institute in Uttoxeter. 

 

After a good reaction and local interest a few met with the local WI Advisor who set all the ball rolling (without her support none of this would have been possible). The decision was taken that we'd give it a go and hold a first meeting to see how many ladies would come along. We had a fantastic turn out of 35 ladies - including some fantastic support from local branches (Thank you ladies!) The result was that the the WI was reformed officially as - The Women Of Uttoxeter.
