Why is it called the Women's Institute? The name ‘Institute’ was chosen because it was the women’s branch of the Farmer’s Institute. There have been suggested name changes over the years, but the organisation has stayed with its roots. The name ‘Institute’ reminds us of one of the key charitable aims, that of the ‘further education of women’.

How often are the meetings?
Regular Meetings are held once a month, for the New Uttoxeter WI these will usually fall on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. See our programme of events for details & drop us a line so we can welcome you on the night.
That's not to say that there can't be extra workshops, trips and fun days out too though!
